The Sutorius family was raised with a gardening heritage. Grandpa Sutorius, a third generation German, was a well known Ohio horticulturist with his Lake Shore Drive home gracing the cover of many Sunday newspaper lifestyle sections. Kit senior worked his way through college designing landscapes for the noted Chicago landscape architect and trade show exhibit floral designer George Nore. Kit Jr., a PGA teaching professional, grew up with the great smell of newly mown grass on the golf course and later, as a golf pro, spent hours with greens-keepers learning the secrets of landscape maintenance.
